The Optical Core Technology

Unique Physical Properties of Light

Light operates on principles of parallelism and speed that surpass traditional electronic systems. Utilizing photonic components, JEF's optical core is designed to execute multiple operations simultaneously—essentially performing vast amounts of calculations in parallel. This unique characteristic is crucial for processing and analyzing large-scale data efficiently, thus overcoming the limitations associated with electrical signal processing.

Design Specificity for Compute and Memory Bottlenecks

The architecture of JEF specifically targets the compute and memory bottlenecks faced by traditional computers. By performing approximately 99% of operations as matrix multiplications through its optical core, JEF massively accelerates critical tasks in AI and machine learning processes. The remaining 1% of operations, typically involving simple pointwise computations, are processed by the digital processor integrated into the system. This deterministic design maximizes memory transfer efficiency and significantly reduces latency.
